Awards
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded based on the number and quality of entries in the
various categories, as justified in the opinion of the juror.
Cash awards total $ 7,2000 for 1st ($500), 2nd ($300), and 3rd ($100) place awards in all categories. The entry judged BEST OF SHOW will be awarded $750. PEOPLE’S CHOICE will be awarded $50.
Student awards total $100. Student work will be judged and shown as a separate category (ST).
Purchase Awards: Citizens State Bank, Alpine Bank and The Painting Marmot will each purchase an exceptional work for their permanent collections.
The following businesses will also designate merit awards for exceptional pieces in the show: The Ago Gallery, and the Mildred M Baker Memorial.
The Mildred M Baker Memorial will select an outstanding student artwork to receive the Mildred M Baker Student Achievement Award.
Scholarships
The Ouray County Arts Association awards an annual scholarship to a deserving senior high school student artist in Ouray County.
Art Sales
All artwork is for sale in both the Main Gallery exhibition area and West Gallery. The number of visitors usually exceeds 1,500.
